Crockpot: Apple Spice Dump Cake
Prep Time:
5 minutes
Cook Time:
2 hours (4 on slow)
Ingredients:
* 13.25 oz. Betty Crocker Spice Cake Mix box
* 42 oz. Apple Pie Filling (use 2 cans 21 oz. each, OR use homemade Apple Pie Filling)
* 1/2 cup Butter, melted
* 2 teaspoons Ground Cinnamon)
Instructions:
1. Grease the crockpot with oil or butter.
2. Empty cans of Apple Pie Filling into bottom of crockpot and spread out evenly.
3. Sprinkle Cinnamon over the apple pie filling.
4. In medium mixing bowl, combine dry Cake Mix and melted Butter, and stir until crumbly. (break up any
large chunks into small crumbles with spoon).
5. Pour cake/butter crumble mixture over apples in crockpot, spread out evenly, and cover crockpot with lid.
6. Cook on HIGH for 2 hours, or LOW for 4 hours.
7. Serve with Ice Cream or Whip Cream and ENJOY!!
Notes:
1. Also, instead of spraying with non-stick cooking spray, when using a skillet. I like to pour 3 tbsp. Melted Butter into bottom of 12″ Cast Iron Skillet & swirl around so bottom of skillet is evenly coated.
2. Skillet Apple Crisp – Simply follow the instructions in the recipe above for the Slow Cooker Apple Dump Cake, but instead, bake in a 12″ cast iron skillet in the oven at 350 degrees for 50 minutes, or until top is crispy and edges are hot and bubbly.
